Alphonse "Bud" V. Erhart, age 81, of St. Peters, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was born May 19, 1932 in St. Peters to Al and Gertrude Ratheiser Erhart. Bud was united in marriage to Rita Schoettelkolte on April 25, 1959. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Bud was with Fry Roofing/Owens Corning for 40 years. He was a life-time member of the St. Leon American Legion, and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Bud loved gardening, farming, fishing, hunting, and was an avid fan of both the Cincinnati Reds and I.U. Hoosiers basketball. Those left to honor Bud's memory include his wife of over 54 years, Rita; one son, Steve (DeeDee) Erhart of St. Peters, daughter-in-law, Marcy Erhart of New Alsace, 6 grand-children, Dana (Mike) Hoskins, Lance Erhart, Shane Erhart, Aaron (Stefani) Stout, Julie (Ian) Molyneux, Jessica (John) Marhoefer; 1 great-granddaughter, Emersyn Molyneux; and one sister, Dot (Al) Rennekamp of Mt. Healthy, OH. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by son, Jerry Erhart, one brother and two sisters.Visitation for friends and family will be Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Peters Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the St. Leon, St. Joseph American Legion Post #464.Memorial donations may be directed to St. Peters Cathloic Church Cemetery Fund, the Sunman Life Squad or the American Heart Association.
