Alice M. Kaiser, age 97, of Cedar Grove, passed away Monday, July 20 at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born May 5, 1918, in Yorkville, Indiana, she was the daughter of William and Anna (Rauch) Hornbach. On August 16, 1947 she married Alfred M. Kaiser at St. Martins Church in Yorkville, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2002. Prior to marriage, Alice helped her family run the General Store in Yorkville, and played the organ at St. Martins Church. As a member of Holy Guardian Angel, she sang in the choir and assisted in cleaning the church. Alice enjoyed gardening, embroidery, playing cards and spending time with her family. Those surviving who will cherish Alice's memory include children, Mary (David) Jordan of Libertyville, IL, Angela (Don) Ruf of Milroy, IN, Jane (Steve) Deutsch of McCordsville, IN, and Paul (Roseanne) Kaiser of Cedar Grove; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Kaiser; brother, Wilbur Hornbach and sisters, Ada Hornbach and Goldie Hornbach. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A Mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Sean Danda, is Saturday at 10:00 in Cedar Grove at Holy Guardian Angel Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
