Alvina C. Meyer, 85, of Brookville, Indiana passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Brookville Healthcare Center.She was born August 18, 1927, in St. Leon, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Wedding) Wilhelm. Alvina was united in marriage to Robert V. Meyer on October 4, 1947 at St. Joseph Church in St. Leon, Indiana and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2000. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and worked in manufacturing at Jay Garment and Franklin Casket Factory in Brookville as well as US Shoe in Harrison, Ohio. She enjoyed playing cards in her spare time and tending her flower garden.She is survived by sons, Robert "Bobby" (Drema) Meyer of Connersville, and Jeffrey Meyer (friend Jean Gabbard) of Brookville; grandchildren, Ryan Meyer, Kasey Meyer, Randi Meyer, Sarah (Nathan) Bates, Sally (Josh) Frank, and Sasha (Zach) Henderson; great-grandchildren, Weston (Cheyanna) Meyer, Jared (Jordan) Floyd, Glyna-Grace Fassold, Shaylee (Sydnee) Frank, and Owen Henderson. Also surviving are sisters, Alma Hoffman of Sunman, and Rita Gesell of St. Leon; and sister-in-law Elsie (Cliff) Davis of Brookville.Besides her parents and husband Alvina was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Meyer, and four brothers; Richard, Stanley, Harold and Raymond Wilhelm, all of St. Leon, Indiana. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Brookville, Indiana with Father Sean Danda officiating. Vistation is Monday evening, October 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial will follow mass on Tuesday in St. Michael Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
