Arnold Ray
Ott
January 22, 1940 – March 18, 2016
Arnold R. Ott, of Greensburg, and formerly of Franklin County, was born on January 22, 1940 in Metamora, the son of Julius and Mattie L. Casteel Ott. He married Mattie A. Bowles in December, 1961 and she survives. Arnold showed a strong work ethic from early on, mowing lawns in Metamora. He later worked for Pepsi and retired from D & M in Connersville. Since retirement didn't fit his lifestyle, Arnold worked for Batesville Tool and Die for an additional 10 years. He was a former member of Garrison Creek Baptist Church in Connersville, and a current member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greensburg. Arnold enjoyed playing checkers, mowing lawns and was a life-long fan of the Cincinnati Red legs. On Friday, March 18, 2016, God's servant, Arnold, was called home.
Those surviving who will cherish Arnold's memory include his wife of over 54 years, Mattie Ott; children, Sally Ott of Greensburg, Steven (Carolyn) Ott of Knightstown, Bradley (Diane) Ott of Greensburg, and Jennifer (Steve) Stirn of Greenfield; 8 grandchildren, Olivia and Justin Stirn, Adam, Nathan and Mike Ott, Haylee, Mason and Brooklyn Ott; brother-in-law, Clyde Fields, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Fields and Bonnie (Don) Rosenberger, and nieces Gayla and Angie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Services, officiated by Chuck Gerrain of Cornerstone Baptist Church, will be on Wednesday at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Metamora Cemetery.
