Obituary

Arthur Simmermeyer, 76, of Brookville, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at The Waters of Batesville.He was born on December 2, 1934 in Saint Mary's, Indiana to Joseph and Elizabeth (Freese) Simmermeyer.He married Marion C. Kunkel who preceded him in death on April 24, 1999, he formerly worked at Philco-Ford, Cly Furniture of Brookville and owned Brookville Blue Flame, he also farmed.He was a veteran of the US Army serving in 1957 and 1958, he was a member of St. Peters Catholic church where he sang in the Choir and served on the Cemetery Committee, he helped establish the Franklin County Right to Life and was a member of Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion of Brookville.Survivors include: Daughter- Diane (Kevin) Werner of St. Peters, Indiana, Son- Don (Debbie) Simmermeyer of St. Peters, Indiana, Grandchildren- Kyle and Kory Werner and Joey Simmermeyer, Step Grandchildren Deanna (Dave) Hill and Brian Hartman, Step Great Granchildren- Sullivan and Rylan Hill, Sisters- Zola Ernstes of Shelbyville, Indiana, Agatha Glaub of St. Mary's, Indiana, Ruthie Randolph of Batesville, Indiana, Kate Fichtner of Batesville, Indiana, Brothers- Raymond 'Butch' Simmermeyer of Oldenburg, Indiana, Dennis Simmermeyer of St. Mary's, Indiana, Carl 'Buck' Simmermeyer of Batesville, Indiana.He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son- Dale Simmermeyer, Grand daughter- Misty Simmermeyer, Sister- Ethel Schomber.Visitation will be Monday, December 13th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana 47012, with a Rosary service at 3:30 PM.Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 14th, 10:00 AM at St. Peters Ctholic Church in St. Peters, Indiana where Father Humbert Moster wiil officiate.Burial will be in the church cemetery, Military Honors will be provided by Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion of Brookville, Indiana.Donations may be made to Saint Peters Church, Franklin County EMS or Franklin County Right to Life.
