Bennie Reed, of Brookville, was born on September 11, 1937 in Kentucky, a son to Robert and Stanley Hurst Reed.  He married Margie Smith on November 3, 1979 in Newport Kentucky and she survives.  Bennie worked as a machinist and enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.  He loved spending time with his family and his neighbors. On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 82, he passed away at his residence.

Those surviving who will cherish Bennie's memory include his loving wife of over 40 years, Margie Reed; children, Barb (Dannie) Napier, Bev Barnett, Dorothy (Jack) Eckerle, Connie McIntosh, Bobbi Jo (Vince) Sorber, Becky (Ronnie) Harmeyer, Jason Reed, Trent Reed and Tim Reed; 19 grandkids; 29 great-grandkids, and 1 great, great-grandkid.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Brenda and Robin; siblings, Lonzo, Vergie, Helen, Clarabell, Pearl, and Gladys, and one son-in-law, Jerry McIntosh.
