Obituary

Betty J. Hill, 87, of Milan, Indiana, died early Wednesday morning on July 25, 2018 at Ripley Crossing in Milan.

Betty was born in Ripley County on April 30, 1931 to Joseph and Ruth Mendel Hill. She graduated from Sunman High School in 1948 and moved to Maine in the early 1950's where her husband was serving in the military. She returned to southeastern Indiana in 2005 and made her home in Batesville. Betty was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses and was an agent for MetLife. As member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Betty was actively involved in her church, many civic organizations, and was a Hospice Volunteer. She served as Past State President of Business Professional Women and was a lifetime member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Betty loved making her home beautiful and entertaining and socializing with her many friends.

Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and a sister-in-law, Linda Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Glenna Belle Dieselberg, and Kathryn Herbert; and a brother: Jerry Hill.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home 107 Vine Street in Sunman, IN with Pastor Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home where memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
