Betty Kathryn Smith, age 77, of New Trenton, Indiana, passed away Tuesday May, 2013 at her residence. She was born on November 24, 1935 in Franklin County, Indiana, to George R. and Margaret (Browning) Rust. Betty married Marion F. Smith on November 13, 1954 at Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Cedar Grove. She was employed at US Shoe Corporation in Harrison, OH, for many years. Left to honor Betty's memory is daughter, Mary Pies of St. Peters, sons, Russell Smith of West Harrison, and Robert Smith of New Trenton; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild; sisters, Dorothy Thomas of Lexington, KY, Martha Baker of Metamora, and Della Abshear of Oldenburg. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Smith, and one brother, George Rust. Visitation for friends and family will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, IN, with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
