Obituary

Callie King was born on March 11, 1939, in Clay County, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on October 10, 2026, in Hamilton, Ohio surrounded by her family.

Callie was a loving, strong-willed, and independent woman who was truly the heart of her family. She had a great sense of humor and a feisty side that made her unforgettable. She loved her family deeply and had a way of keeping everyone on their toes while making them laugh along the way. She was a woman with a mind of her own, a big heart, and a spirit that will never be forgotten. Her love, laughter, and one-of-a-kind personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Sumner, Linda Keith, and Jona King; a granddaughter she raised as her own, Chrissy King; and her sister, Zella Mae Grubb. Callie is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Bessie Metcalf; her husband, Hubert King; her son, Roger King; her two brothers, John D. Metcalf and Charles Roscoe Metcalf; and her great-grandson, Andrew Beaman.

Callie will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and relatives may visit on Thursday, October 15 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home of Brookville, 929 Main Street. A funeral service will be held on Friday October 16 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow immediately after in Maple Grove Cemetery.
