Carl Eugene Pierce, of Sunman, was born on April 5, 1942, in Metamora, Indiana at home. Cherished son of Leslie and Stella Hunter Pierce. On February 10, 1960, he married Geraldine Pennington and together they cherished 65 years of wonderful marriage. During Carl's working life, he was employed at Philco Ford, Owens Corning, as well as his most recent and enjoyable job at J & J Packaging. When Carl wasn't working, he enjoyed tinkering around with and working on cars, catching a quick game of baseball, taking a ride on his bicycle, going fishing, hunting for mushrooms, racing his son to get the grass mowed first, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. On Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 83, Carl passed away peacefully at home with his wife Geraldine by his side.

Those surviving who will cherish Carl's memory include his wife of 65 years, Geraldine Pierce; children, Paula Isaacs and fiancé John Poe, Dennis (Shelia) Pierce, Danny Pierce and fiancé Melissa Thomas, Donny (Tonia) Pierce, and Tammy (Keith) Maucher; one sister, Connie Jo (James) Abercrombie; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kim Pierce; as well as siblings, Lester Lee Pierce, Helen Rose Foster, and Judith Ann Hamilton.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday, July 17 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home – 929 Main Street, Brookville, IN 47012. Pastor Rob Edwards will officiate funeral services on Friday, July 18 at 10 a.m. and burial will follow immediately after in Sims-Brier Cemetery.
