Catherine Ann Evans (née Bath), lovingly known to all as Cathy, was born on March 24, 1963, in Connersville, Indiana, the cherished daughter of Orville and Rosanna Bath (née Bunn). She was a graduate of Brookville High School, Class of 1981.

Cathy was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where she especially enjoyed attending Mass alongside her mother. Throughout her life, she held a variety of positions and formed many meaningful connections through her work. She served as a secretary for an insurance agency and prepared taxes at H&R Block. She was also employed for many years as a waitress and bartender at The Hearthstone, Ye Old Shack, and the VFW. However, her greatest joy in her career came after marrying Joe Evans, when the two worked side by side providing landscaping services. Blessed with a true green thumb, Cathy loved flowers, gardening, and creating beautiful flower beds. Cathy and Joe first met on January 24, 2003, and after six years of building a life and love together, they united in marriage. Following their wedding, the couple embraced their adventurous spirit, spending nearly four years traveling the country and experiencing all they could throughout the United States. Among her favorite memories was their trip to Rapid City, South Dakota, where she delighted in exploring the state parks, taking in the beauty of the Badlands, visiting Mount Rushmore, and enjoying all the area had to offer. Cathy was a true spitfire, full of humor and quick wit. You could always count on her warm smile to brighten your day. When she wasn't traveling or spending time with her family, she enjoyed taking her beloved canine companion, Bell, for walks and gathering with loved ones around a campfire.

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 63, Cathy passed away peacefully after a short health battle at Reid Health in Richmond.

Those surviving who will cherish Cathy’s memory include her husband, Joe Evans; two daughters, Candace (Trevin) Suding (nee Bath) and Dawn Rosenberger (nee Derenski); one stepdaughter, Megan Evans; one grandson, Hunter Thrush; one sister, Mary (Steve) Hughes; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Bath and Kenny “Moose” Bath.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, June 19th from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A family led Celebration of Life will begin at 12 noon. Family and friends are encouraged to share any fond memories or stories they have with Cathy during the Celebration of Life. Everyone is invited to the American Legion following the service to share a time of fellowship, a delicious meal, and most importantly, to enjoy a cold beverage in honor of Cathy. The American Legion is located at 1290 Fairfield Avenue, Brookville, Indiana 47012.

Memorial donations in memory of Cathy can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations will be accepted in person at the visitation, or they can be made online by following the link below.
