Charlene "Minnie" Diane Ellinghausen, of Sunman, was born on December 1, 1942 in Milan to Raymond and Edna (Hoff) Lattire. She married her husband Don, and raised 2 children. Charlene worked at ETC for 30 years, drove a school bus for Sunman Dearborn Community Schools for15 years, and taught preschool at Kreative Kids Learning. Charlene loved being with her grandkids, doing crafts, bowling, and traveling all over the country, coast to coast, to watch all of her children and grandchildren play in their sporting events. She always travelled by land and never by plane. Charlene also enjoyed her spring breaks every year. They travelled to Florida and went to all of the amusements parks with her grandchildren. She was affiliated with St. John United Church of Christ, and the Sunman American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the age of 76, Charlene passed away at home.
Those surviving who will cherish Charlene's memory include her husband, Don; a daughter, Monica (Monty) McCory of Sunman; 5 grandchildren, Kiana Ellinghausen of Sunman, Baxter McCory of L.A., California, York McCory of Columbus, Brilan McCory of Sunman, and Charsan McCory of Sunman; daughter-in-law, Rose Ellinghausen; 3 sisters, Jean Eckstein of Sunman, Laurene Brittan of Aurora, and Shirley Campbell of Sunman; brother, Daren (Connie) Lattire of Cincinnati, and a sister-in-law, Helen Lattire of Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by a son, Brian "Bauser" Ellinghausen; 2 sisters, Violet Konradi and Connie Brittan; 3 brothers, Dallas, Kendal, and Larry; 7 brothers-in-law, Al Brittan, Cornelius Eckstein, John Campbell, Jerry Darling, Ron Brittan, Charles Konradi, and Walter Howard.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Sunman Life Squad or New Horizons.
