Claire Louise (nee Boyle) Wise of Brookville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at home. Born in Indianapolis, IN, Claire was the daughter of James J. Boyle, Sr. and Clara L. (nee Hornbach) Boyle. Claire and Herman L. Wise were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN and have been a part of the Brookville community since the date of their marriage. In 1948 Claire and Herman opened the Mid-Town in Brookville, where Claire entertained at the sing-a-long Piano Bar. Claire, an Indiana real estate licensee has been affiliated with realty exchange since date of licensure. Claire has been very active in her parish, St. Michael Catholic church and has served on Parish Council, as President of St. Michael's Mother's Club, a member of St. Michael's Choir and served as an usher. She has been active in the Right-To-Life Movement in her parish and the Franklin County Community. She has served as Regent of the Daughters of Isabella, a Cub Scout Den Mother and played in many musicals and follies in the community over the years. Claire has been a member of the Southeastern Indiana Board of Realtors, the Indiana and the National Association of Realtors. The family who will cherish Claire's memory include daughter Mary Ann C. Wise-Castner and spouse C.T. Castner of Versailles, IN; son, Karl L. Wise of Brookville; daughter Caroline L. Wise and partner, Susan Elias of Dayton, OH; daughter Nancy J. Wise, D.O., M.D. of Kettering, OH and daughter Jeannine M. Surguy of Brookville. Claire is loved and missed by her eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her Mid-Town family and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; her parents; two brothers, James J. Boyle, Jr. and John T. Boyle and two sisters, Catherine M. Quill and Rosemary Maginn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Sean Danda, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville, on October 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to St. Michael School, the Brookville Public Library or to Margaret Mary Health Hospice.
