Clara Frances Brandes, 79, of Milan, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Manderly Healthcare Center in Osgood. She was born February 7, 1934 to the late Linden Judge Centers and Carrie Schokley Centers. After the death of her father at age 3, her mother was remarried to William Kirby and together they raised her. Clara was a housewife her entire life and enjoyed her kids and grandkids.Those left to honor Clara's memory include; sons, Linden (Yvonne) Brandes of Brookville, Ralph (Denise) and Greg (Pam) Brandes of Milan, and Gary (Doris) Brandes of Batesville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren; brothers, Walter Centers of Venice, FL, Robert Centers of Lawrenceburg, and Donald Centers of Aurora. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Linden Caleb and just recently Olie Centers of Venice, FL, and three sisters, Mariam, Lucille and Lucinda. Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Old Milan Cemetery in Milan.Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
