Clare Rita
Sucietto
December 29, 1934 – December 17, 2025
Please see updated obituary for Mass of Christian Burial details.
Clare Rita Sucietto, of Brookville, was born on December 29, 1934, cherished daughter of William R. and Olive White McDonald. She married the late Clifford Carl Sucietto on December 31, 1955, in Massachusetts, and together they spent over 67 wonderful years. Clare was fortunate to be a homemaker, raising her four children and keeping the household running smoothly. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Clare was an avid supporter of Right to Life and enjoyed volunteering her time in support of all things related to the pro-life movement. In her free time, Clare enjoyed painting and creating art, collecting teapots, and antiquing. She treasured all her finds and sought the deeper meaning and significance of the antiques she collected, taking time to learn the full story of each piece. This thoughtful curiosity extended beyond antiques to all that she loved, whether that was a person, place, or thing. She also loved hosting holiday gatherings and sharing stories with friends and family. She had the gift of gab and was the best storyteller. She also loved to travel to Ireland, making the journey numerous times. Most of all, Clare loved spending time with her family. On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 90, Clare passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana.
Those surviving who will cherish Clare's memory include her three children, Thomas (Virginia) Sucietto, Braden Sucietto, and Meg Perez (Steve Wenke); 14 grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Hannah, Caleb, Noah, Anthony, Dominic, Paul, Tommy, Ava, Braden, Matthew, Keegan and Michael, 11 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Rick Sucietto; as well as sister- in-law, Mary Claire Meyer. In addition to her parents, Clare was preceded in death by her daughter, Resa Sucietto; two grandchildren, Nathaniel and Matthew Sucietto; four siblings, Billy McDonald, Jack McDonald, Joe McDonald, and Mary Ellen Schoeplein; and three brothers-in-law, John Sands, Richard Sucietto, Thomas Sucietto.
In keeping with a lifetime of generosity, Clare chose to help others once more by donating her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to aid with research and education. Father Shaun Whittington will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 21, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 145 E. St. Michael Blvd, Brookville, at 11 AM.
