Daniel A. Waywood, age 78, of Brookville, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville. Born on December 13, 1936 in Batesville, Indiana, he was the son of Harry J. and Ella Hildebrand Waywood. He served his country as part of the U.S. Army Reserves. Dan married Alma Brunsman on October 7, 1961 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris. He was employed most of his life at Sperry Rubber and later retired from Batesville Tool and Die. Dan was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a former member of the Brookville Eagles. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Dan also liked working with kids as both a 4-H and Boy Scout leader. Bowling was a favorite past-time after he retired. Those surviving who will honor Dan's memory include his loving wife of over 53 years, Alma Waywood; children, Robert (Beth) Waywood of Trenton, OH, Tony (Jo D.) Waywood of Cincinnati, OH, Ruth (Tom) Miller of St. Leon, and Sandy (Curt) Cox of Brookville; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Noah. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A Rosary prayer service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Father Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville. Burial will conclude services at St. Michael Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 Brookville American Legion.
