Donald D. Deutsch, age 73, of Brookville, died suddenly at home on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Born April 15, 1941 in Batesville, he was the son of Marshall Deutsch and Rita A. Kunkel Deutsch. On November 26, 1966 he married Janet Knecht, and she survives. Donald worked for INDOT for over 50 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Metamora Performing Arts. Donald enjoyed singing in the St. Michael Choir and watching sports on TV. Those surviving who will honor Donald's memory include his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Deutsch; children, Scott Deutsch of Brookville, Lisa Strine of Brownsburg, IN, Eric (Tracey) Deutsch of Pittsboro, IN, and Amy (Quentin) Kersey of Brookville; grandchildren, Patrick and Erin Strine, Alex and Samantha Deutsch, Drew and Austin Kersey; brothers, John Deutsch of Rushville, and Jeff Deutsch of Middletown, OH; sisters, Becky Teece of Brookville, Bonnie L. Knecht of Brookville, Marsha Deutsch of Franklin, OH, and Melissa Knoller of Hudgens, VA, and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews. Visitation for friends and family will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial, celebrated by Rev. Sean Danda is Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Family requests memorial donations to St. Michael School or to a charity of choice.
