Donald "Don" Kevin Trabel, 52, of Sunman, Indiana died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.He was born March 21, 1958 in Connersville, Indiana to Sylvester F. and Emily Trabel. He worked his entire life as an auto mechanic and was currently employed by Widener Automotive in Batesville, Indiana. He had a lifelong interest in automobiles, was an avid Drag Racer, and enjoyed hunting. His favorite thing to do, however, was tp be with his daughter, Lydia, and she loved tinkering around with her dad, too.He is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Malia Ann Steinmetz of Sunman and their seven year-old daughter Lydia Trabel; Brother and Sister-in-law, Tim and Mary Trabel of Yorkville; Sister and Brother-in-law, Denise and Gary Eckstein of St. Leon; and Sister and Brother-in-law, Pam and Tom Torre of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; and several Nieces and Nephews.He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sylvester F. and Emily Trabel. The Visitation will be Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana 47041. A Rosary Service will precede the Visitation, beginning at 3:30 PM at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Esarey, Pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church in New Alsace, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in St. Leon, Indiana. Friends will serve as Pallbearers.Memorial donations may be directed to the family to be used for future and educational expenses for Lydia Trabel or may be given for Masses.
