Donald J. Rosenberger, age 83, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at his residence. Born December 25, 1930 in Franklin County, he was the son of Otto A. and Clara J. Sauerland Rosenberger. Donald served his country during the Korean War as part of the United States Army. He married Bonnie J. Ott on April 4, 1970 in Brookville and she preceded him in death on October 5, 2013. Donald worked in manufacturing most of his life at D&M. After retirement he worked at J and J in Sunman in security. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Brookville American Legion, and the Brookville Eagles. Donald loved watching sports, especially the I.U. Hoosiers, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed gardening. Those surviving who will honor Donald's memory include; daughter, Patricia Marmouze of Brookville; sons, Tim Rosenberger, Greg Rosenberger and Ryan Rosenberger, all of Brookville; grandchildren, Gary Marmouze, Jr., and Jeanette Hoffbauer, both of Brookville; great-grandchildren, Haylee Marmouze and Jacob Hoffbauer; sisters, Shirley Helms and Janet Miller of Brookville, Donna Gesell of St. Peters, Joyce Lambert of Whitcomb, and Karen Weir of Eaton, OH; and brother, Herbert Rosenberger of Brookville. Besides his parents and wife, Bonnie, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark John Rosenberger, and sisters, Phyllis Riedman and Alberta "Bertie" Smith. Visitation for friends and family is Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville with rosary at 3:30. Father Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian burial Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial with military honors provided by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion will follow in St. Michael Church Cemetery.
