E. Charlotte Stone, age 86, of Brookville, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Hospice of Hamilton, OH.She was born on May 17, 1927 in Union County to Raymond and Irene (Widaa) Updike. Charlotte married Waldo Stone on November 19, 1946 in Bath, Indiana and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1995. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield Township in Franklin County, Indiana. Charlotte was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed baking sweet rolls for her family, reading, sewing, crocheting, and watching sports on television. Those surviving who will honor Charlotte's memory include; children, Marvin Stone of Brookville, Kathleen (Greg) Skinner of Brookville, and Kenneth (Jenny) Stone of Metamora; grandchildren, Mandy Stone, Heather and Charles Ratz, Eric and Heather Stone, Kevin and Lisa Skinner; step great-grandchildren, Christopher Leamon, and Andrew Chaltain; future great-grandchildren, Kevin and Lisa's expectant twins; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Betty Updike of Brookville; and sister-in-law, Florence Myers of Union County, Indiana. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Berniece Beckett; and nieces, Jill Updike Hofer Bruns and Beverly Updike Huls.Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 10 AM - 12 noon, followed by services at 12 noon at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Burial is at Big Cedar Cemetery in Whitcomb.
