Earl Campbell, age 87, of Sunman, Indiana passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. He was born March 24, 1927 in Hazard, Kentucky to A.B. and Mary (Hoskins) Campbell. Earl married Viola M. Hill on March 26, 1955 at Sunman Community Church and she survives. He worked in the office at Fernald for 15 years and then retired from Hillenbrand's after 24 years of service. Earl was a lifetime member of the Sunman Masonic Lodge #590, and a member of the Sunman Church of Christ. He loved music and played his guitar for many years. Earl also enjoyed spending time with his family. Those surviving who will honor Earl's memory include his wife of 59 years, Viola M. Campbell; sons, Gregory Campbell of Lawrenceburg, and Russell Campbell of Sunman; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Campbell and Matthew (fiancé Laurie) Campbell; siblings, Eugene Campbell of California, John Campbell of Sunman, Jack Campbell of Cincinnati, and Laverne March of Lawrenceburg. Besides his parents, Earl was preceded in death by brothers, Sam, Arlie, Floyd and Ed Campbell, and sister, Edith Robinson. Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 1 to 3 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, with services beginning at 3 PM. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
