Edna E. Eckstein, 87, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away August 16, 2011 at Margaret Mary Community Hospial in Batesville.She was born October 11, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward and Mary (Ihle) Lipps.She married Charles A. Eckstein on February 23, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio.She was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Sunman, and a former long time member of St. Dominic Church in Delhi, Ohio.Survivors include: Dauhgters- Kathleen (Mike) Bender and Rita (Dale) Jacobs both of Sunman, Sons- Charles B. (Arlene), Henry (Kathy), Len (Marcia), Kenneth (Mary Lou), Thomas (Michele), Frank (Margie), Jeff (Amie) Eckstein all of Sunman, and Fred (Kathy) Eckstein of Sevierville, Tennessee, 24 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Sisters- Henrietta Grosjean, Frieda Knolle, Betty Eisen, Mary Heister, Agnes Ludwig, Brothers- Charles Lipps and Ed Lipps.She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband- Charles on October 8th, 1972, infant Daughter- Helen Rose Eckstein, Sister- Eleanor Heidi, Brothers- Leo Lipps and Bernie Lipps.Visitation will be Friday, August 19th, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Rosary Service at 3:45 PM at St. Nicholas Church, 6461 East St. Nicholas Drive, Sunman, Indiana 47041, also visitation after 8:30 AM on Saturday at Church.Funeral Mass will be at St. Nicholas on Saturday August 20th at 10:00 AM, where Rev. Frank Eckstein will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Family will serve as Pallbearers.Memorial contributions may be given for Masses, St. Nicholas School or Sunman Rescue 20.
