Elda Sparkman, 90 years of age, passed away April 20, 2011 at Ripley Crossings in Milan, Indiana.She was born December 23, 1920 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Melvin and Ellen Watts Johnson.She was married to Odis Sparkman who preceded her in death on December 21, 1972.She was a Homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pippin Pass, Kentucky.Survivors include her children: O.C. (Donna) Sparkman, Lorraine (Paul) Honeycutt, Charlotte (Woody) Amburgy, Russell Sparkman, Jasper C. Sparkman, Sarah Sparkman, Kenny Sparkman all of Sunman, Indiana, Harriett Carter of Batesville, Indiana, Anna (Bob) Bentle of Versailles, Indiana, Odyne (Matt) Huffman of Milan, Indiana, 19 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters and Brothers: Louise Rohrig of Milan, Indiana, Norma Justice of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobby Johnson of Dillsboro, Indiana, Violet Baker of Milan, Indiana.She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and children- Mablee Sparkman and Olive Horton.Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2011 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana 47041, and from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday.Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Little Memory Baptist Church, County Road 1150 N, Sunman, Indiana 47041. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Memorials may be directed to the family.
