Elmer J. Free, age 76, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Sterling House of Richmond. Born on May 10, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of Emery E. and Grace C. Miller Free. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy. Elmer was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Lodge No. 713 in Indianapolis, being raised on February 20, 1965. Both his passion and occupation was art. He collected model cars, with Mustangs being his favorite. Elmer also loved NASCAR and enjoyed rooting for Danica Patrick. Survivors include many cousins and friends. Special friend, Sharon K. Smith of Richmond will continue to cherish Elmer's memory. At Elmer's request, services will be private. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville. Memorial donations may be directed to a charity of choice. Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Elmer J. Free.
