Obituary

Elvira 'Vera' Moorman, 91, of Brookville, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She was born November 15, 1921 in Batesville, Indiana to Bernard and Cecilia (Siefert) Fledderman. She was a member of St. Michaels church, VFW Auxilliary where she was past president, and the American Legion Auxilliary. She had previously worked at Sperry Rubber and Plastics in Brookville, and also Hillenbrand Industries in Batesville from where she retired. Survivors include; her children Gerald (Sharon) Forthofer of Rockwell, North Carolina, Marilyn (Rodney) Pence of Brookville, Indiana, Beverly (Earl) Archer of Somerset, Kentucky, Diana (Dan) Trabel of Sunman, Indiana, Karen (George) Dumais of Van Nuys, California, Michael (Donna) Forthofer of Brookville, Indiana, two step-children; Don and Jan Pelsor of Tipp City, Ohio Glen and Mary Moorman of Hamilton, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, 3 great, great- grandchildren and several step- grandchildren and step- great grandchildren, sisters, Edna (Robert) Lamppert of Morris, Indiana and Marie (Robert) Connolly of Dover, Indiana, and companion of many years Stanley Kocher of Brookville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husbands Jerome Forthofer and Frank Moorman, four brothers; Raymond, Walter, Urban and Victor Fledderman, three sisters; Ethel Obermeyer, Marcella (Bruns) Becker and Rita Obermeyer, one step- grandchild; Amanda Pelsor and granddaughter in law; Tonya (Rasnick) Pence. Visitation will be at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, IN, Saturday, January 19 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, following visitation, Rev. Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Franklin County Public Library, Franklin County EMS or St. Michael Church. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, crocheting, reading and visiting casinos as they traveled across the United States.
