Ethel Lee Noble, 82, of Cedar Grove, Indiana, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital – Dearborn.

Ethel was born on April 5, 1944, in Hamilton, Ohio, the cherished daughter of Norman Earl Turner. She graduated from Whitewater High School and later married the love of her life, Luther Noble Sr., on September 23, 1980. Together, they created a life centered around their family and the many people whose lives Ethel touched with her kindness and generous spirit. Most recently, Ethel enjoyed spending time with her “feller,” Bob Banning. The two enjoyed each other’s company, having met through their flea market booths.

Ethel retired from Campbell Hausfeld after many years of dedicated employment. She was also known as the “sock lady” at White’s Sale Barn, where she enjoyed being around people and sharing her warm and friendly personality. Ethel loved attending auctions and flea markets and took great joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Ethel was a woman of strong character and service. She was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and served many times as Worthy Matron of Brookville Chapter #449, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a very kind and sweet soul who was always willing to show kindness to others. Her gentle nature and caring heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those surviving who will cherish Ethel’s memory include seven siblings, Lois Abercrombie, James (Bonnie) Turner, Walter (Linda) Turner, Cecil Turner, Frank Turner, Daniel Stevens and Herbert Stevens both of Kentucky; five stepchildren, David (Christine) Noble, Luther Noble Jr, Kenny (Marsha) Noble, James Noble, Melissa (Jerry) Kuhn; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Noble Sr.; her father, Norman Earl Turner; one brother, Norman Eugene Turner as well as one sister, Norma Turner Kolb.

Friends and relatives may visit the family from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home of Brookville, 929 Main Street. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately after the service in Big Cedar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in honor of Ethel may be directed to Brookville Chapter #449 Order of the Eastern Star – Service Dog Project, or Families in Need Project. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home or they can be mailed to 929 Main Street, Brookville, IN 47012.
