Evans "Dusty" C. Cecil, 90, of Mt. Carmel, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his home. He was born September 26, 1921 in Harlan Kentucky, a son of the late Bealyand Florence (Gooden) Cecil.Dusty proudly served his country in World War II. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his music, particularly Gospel and Country. He worked for Fisher Body Fairfield Ohio for many years and was a member of the Local 233 United Auto Workers for almost 35 years. He also loved square dancing and was a member of the Lakeside Steppers.He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Geneva Seegmueller Cecil, son Greg Cecil of Union County, and daughter Karen (Short) of Cincinnati. Also surviving is Brother Robert "Buddy" and sister-in-law Helen of Tennessee.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lemual, Edmond, Edgar, Hayward and half-brothers Allen "Pete", Raymond, Franklin and his wife Anita, sisters, Sevia Huff, Pearl Anderson, Mamie Tye, and Myrtle Whiteaer.Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andy Zinsmeister officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Cemetery with military services conducted by American Legion Bernard Hurst Post #77.Memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church.
