Faye Slayback, 83, of Morgantown and formerly of New Point, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012. She was born December 13, 1928, in Sparta, Indiana, the daughter of James and Alice (Stroup) Slayback.Faye was dedicated to her calling in life as a registered nurse and retired from Decatur County Memorial Hospital after many years of service. She was a member of the Batesville Lutheran Church and truly enjoyed all animals, especially her cats. She is survived by sisters; Sharon Ames of Morgantown, IN, Henrietta Deaton of Sparta, IN, Patricia Collins of Oldenburg, IN; brothers, Thomas Slayback of Versailles, IN, A. Ray Slayback of Illinois, and James Slayback of Sunman, Indiana.Besides her parents, Faye was preceded in death by a brother, William Slayback. Visitation will be this Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 12-2 at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana with a 2 p.m. funeral service. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman, Indiana. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of choice.
