Florence McIntire, 81, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Waters in Batesville. She was born in Paris Crossing, Indiana, February 25, 1931 to Leroy Allen and Mary (Stewart) McIntire.Florence's passion in life was caring for others. She lived in Florida part of her life carrying out that passion. She was a social butterfly and also enjoyed volunteering, mainly at the Waters in Batesville. You could always find her playing bingo or gardening. She was also a member of the Sunman Community Church. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Leroy Allen and Janice McIntire of Milroy, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews, including her caregiver, Pamela Calhoun (husband, Ron) of Batesville. Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert E. McIntire of Middletown Ohio and Ernest Stewart from Greensburg.Visitation for friends and family will be from 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, with the funeral service at 2 p.m., at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana. Burial will follow in Little Memory Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Activities Fund at the Waters Nursing Home.
