Floyd L. "Bud" Hunter, of Sunman, was born on April 24, 1924 in Lawrenceburg, a son to Floyd L. and Nannie Ake Hunter, Sr.  Bud served his country as a Medical Navy Corpsmen during WWII in Okinawa.  He later married Mary Lee Robinson in Versailles on August 21, 1948 and she survives.  Bud was an active member of the Sunman Community Church where he served as treasurer and an usher.  He was the Clerk Treasurer of Sunman for many years and a Republican Precinct Committeeman.  Bud was a member of the Sunman American Legion and worked at Seagram's, retiring in 1987.  He was an avid Reds fan, enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family.  On Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the age of 94, Bud passed away at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.

Those surviving who will cherish Bud's memory include his wife of 70 years Mary Lee Hunter; two daughters, Gayle (Roger) Hughes of North Vernon and Sharon (Douglas H.) Smith of Batesville; 4 grandchildren, Abby (Jim) David of Moores Hill, Brian (Karen) Kirschner of Greenfield, Stephanie (Jeff) Bell of Eaton, and Kara (Brendan) Demeester of Noblesville, and 4 great-grandchildren.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Schweers and Betty Nelson, and a brother, Paul Hunter.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Sunman Community Church.  Burial with full graveside military honors provided by the Kenneth L. Diver Post #337 Sunman American Legion will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
