Fred G. Bronnert, age 96, of Brookville, Indiana, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Brookville Healthcare Center. He was born September 17, 1917 in Withamsville, Ohio to Fred and Grace Davis Bronnert. Fred married Margaret L. Hahn on July 29, 1939 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death on October 30, 1999. Fred was a WWII veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. He was self-employed as a mechanic his entire life. Fred was a member of the VFW, American Legion in Cincinnati, and St. Michael Church. He enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling, photography and spending time with family. Those left to honor Fred's memory or children, Pamela (Bob) Killinger of Dillsboro, IN, Fred Anthony (Jeanine) Bronnert of Claremore, OK, John J. (Katie) Bronnert of Brookville, and Scott G. Bronnert of Tampa, FL; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Carl Bronnert. Visitation for friends and family will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Sean Danda, is Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Memorial donations can be directed to the Indiana Diabetes Foundation.
