Georgia Eva King, age 88, of Metamora, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Born March 31, 1926 in Metamora Township - Franklin County, she was the daughter of Harvey and Pearl Cavins McWhorter. She married Leonard E. King and he preceded her in death. Georgia retired from the Brookville Casket Factory. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Georgia enjoyed oil painting, gardening, sewing, watching birds, and spending time with her family. Those surviving who will cherish Georgia's memory include her daughter, Lacey (Bob) Pence of Metamora; 5 grandchildren, Deana (Jeff) Mullikin, Dawn (Bob) Meier, Robin (Michael) Hensley, Sandy King and John King; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren, and brother, Dale Allen of Southgate, Kentucky. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Merle; brothers Ed McWhorter and Charles McWhorter and sister, Mary Ridener. Visitation is Friday, October 10, 2014 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. A Mass of Christian burial, celebrated by Rev. Sean Danda will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family requests memorial donations to St. Michael Church.
