Gerald 'Jerry' Corson, 62, of Spades, Indiana, passed away November 8th, at his residence surrounded by his seven girls.He was born August 28, 1948 in Batesville, Indiana to Charles and Iris June (Vail) Corsen.He married Alma Grossman on April 27, 1968 and she survives.He was a mechanic who worked for serveral area trucking companies and garages and was most recently employed by the State Highway Department in Penntown, Indiana. He served in the US Air Force from 1970 to 1973. He was a 37 year member of Kenneth L. Diver Post #337-American Legion and he had served on the Sunman Volunter fire Department for 19 years and on Sunman Rescue 20 for 17 years.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years- Alma, his children, Malinda (Jeff) Lusby of Milan, Angie (Gary) Barnes of Sunman, Shelly (Josh) Fasbinder of Greensburg, Benita (Morgan) Hedrick of Lawrenceburg, Janette Corson of Sunman, Christa (Ryan) Cullen of Osgood, and Ashley Corson of Sunman, and ten Grandchildren, six Step-Grandchildren and one Great, Grandchild, also his Sisters, Jackie Schaefer and Mary Lou Brandes both of Batesville.He was preceded in death by his Parents.The visitation will be Wednesday, November 10th, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kenneth L. Diver Post #337- American Legion, 412 Eastern Avenue, Sunman, Indiana 47041, and on Thursday, November 11th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.The Funeral will be Thursday, November 11th at 10:00 AM at the Legion where Dennis Werner, Pastor of Solid Rock Bible Fellowship Church will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Stephens cemetery in Spades, Indiana, with graveside military honors by Kenneth L. Diver Post #337 American Legion.Memorial donations may be made to the Sunman Volunteer Fire Department, Sunman Rescue 20, Sunman Legion or to the family.
