Obituary

Glen J. Sampson of Brookville was born on November 17, 1933 in Franklin County.  He was the son of Ray and Della Baker Sampson.  Glen was a veteran, having served during the Korean War with the United States Army.  He married Martha E. Hofer on December 22, 1956 at the St. Thomas parsonage.  Glen was a truck driver most of his career.  He was a member of the American Legion Bernard Hurst Post #77,  the Harmony Lodge #11 F&M and the Shriners.  He loved antique tractors, boating, trap shooting, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.  On December 17, 2015, at the age of 82, Glen passed away at Mercy Health in Fairfield, OH.

Those surviving who will honor Glen's memory include his wife of almost 59 years, Martha Sampson; daughters, Paula (Brian) Farthing of West College Corner, IN, and Karen (Jeff) Sauerland of Blooming Grove; three grandsons, Tyler (Krystal) Whittamore, Andy Sauerland, and Matt Sauerland; 2 great grandchildren, Carter and Carlee Whittamore; sisters, Helen Hertel and Bonnie Estridge, and brother, Keith (Judy) Sampson, all of Brookville.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Nobbe, Wanda Kennett and Jean Sevor.

Friends may visit with the family Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Masonic services will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m.  Pastor Ladonna Webb will officiate the funeral services at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Bernard Hurst Post #77.
