Helen L. Baas, age 88, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Waters in Batesville. She was born on November 25, 1925 to Wilburn and Beulah Lipscomb Myatt. She married Herbert W. Baas May 2, 1942 at Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio and he preceded her in death in 1993. Helen was a seamstress at Romwebers for many years. She loved children and babysat for family and friends. Those left to honor Helen's memory include her children, Judy (Gerald) Bruns of Milan, Michele (Stephen) Guenther of Sunman, Dennis Baas of Sunman; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law, Donna Baas of St. Leon. Besides her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by four sons; Ron, Don, Darrell and David; two sisters, Edith Wilson, Wilma Michael, and her twin sister, Rose Duffner. Visitation is Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. The services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Penntown. Family requests memorial to the Sunman Life Squad.
