Hugh Daniel "Danny" Hill, Jr. age 66, of Brookville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 14, 1949, in Gallipolis, OH, he was the son of Hugh Daniel, Sr. and Betty Mae Clark Hill. On September 8, 1972, in Memphis, TN, he married Sandra Bischoff. For 30 years Danny worked at the Cincinnati Bulk Mail Center as a U.S. Postal clerk. He later served as an assistant in the Franklin County Health Department. Danny was a member of Holy Guardian Angel Church , served on the board of Franklin County EMA, and was a volunteer fireman for Cedar Grove for 25 years. He coached several youth sports teams and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and I.U. basketball. Danny was also a gun enthusiast and loved to hunt. Camping was another favorite past-time and he was a charter member of the NCHA (National Camping and Hikers Association). Danny had many remodeling projects over the years and enjoyed gardening, too. Being a great cook, he loved to eat and two of his favorites were fried chicken and biscuits and gravy. What Danny loved most in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his 3 grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Grumpy Grampy." Those surviving who will cherish Danny's memory include his wife of over 42 years, Sandy Hill; children, Ande′ (Neil) Beasely of Brookville, and Dominic (Caitlyn) Hill of Bloomington; grandchildren, Caitlin, Evan and Kamryn, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Susie) Bischoff of Guilford, Jack (Mindy) Bischoff of Tampa, FL, and Jim (Beth) Bischoff of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on the family from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street. A Mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Sean Danda, will be held at Holy Guardian Angel Church in Cedar Grove, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
