Obituary

James E. Weileman, age 73, of Brookville, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville. Jim was born on January 15, 1941 in Brookville to Damon and Alvina Gerber Weileman. He married Patricia McCarty on November 16, 1963 at St. Michael Catholic Church and she survives. Jim was employed at, and later retired from, H & J Barber Shop. He was also a life-long member of St. Michael Church where he was a member of the choir and a former co-chair of the parish festival. Also, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1129, and the Knights of Columbus earning the rank of Fourth Degree Knight. Jim was a former emergency medical technician with the Brookville EMS 2, and also volunteered his time as a coach for Little League baseball. He established the Flag Fund for the Town of Brookville. Jim was recognized in 2010 as the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. In his free time Jim enjoyed playing golf, serving as a ranger at Brook Hill Golf Course, playing cards, telling stories, mushroom hunting, boating, woodworking, painting and spending time with his family. Those surviving who will honor Jim's memory include his wife of 51 years, Patsy; sons, Steven (Sara) Weileman of New Palestine, and Mark (Kim) Weileman of McCordsville; and daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Ebrens of Brookville; grandchildren, Paige, Lucas and Whitney Weileman, Jessica, Jenna, Josie and Jayden Weileman, and Samantha Ebrens. Also surviving is a sister, June (Dick) Williams of Brookville. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janet Weileman and Joyce Burns. Visitation for friends and family will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The funeral mass is Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville. Burial will follow at the St. Michael Cemetery. Jim's family requests memorial donations to the Brookville Healthcare Center, the Alzheimer Association of Indiana, and St. Michael School.
