James J. Giarusso, age 71, of Brookville, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at his residence. Born December 3, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of John and Lorraine Smith Giarusso. He married Alice M. DiMarco on October 21, 1961 at St. Christopher Church in Parsippany, New Jersey and she survives. James was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office for 31 years in Janesville, Wisconsin. He enjoyed working in his woodshop and watching his horses. James loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Those surviving who will honor Jim's memory include his wife of over 52 years, Alice Giarusso; daughter Karen (Bill) Wynne of Brookville, son Richard J. (Deb) Giarusso of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, Ryan Giarusso, Emma, Abigail and Aidan Wynne; two sisters, Judith Johns of Toms River, New Jersey and Joyce Stever of West Chester, New York; and brother Robert Giarusso of Big Lake Minnesota. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jack Giarusso. Visitation is Monday, August 4, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The requiem, held at St. Cecelia Church in Oak Forest, is Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Karl Pikus officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
