James Calvin Vest, 80 years of age, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at his residence.He was born April 30, 1930 in Denison, Texas to Pitsford and Beatrice (Parker) Vest.He married Margie Kathleen Farmer on November 1, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas and she preceded him in death on August 1, 2007.He retired from Philco-Ford in Connersville after 30 years of employment. He was a four year member of the US Navy where he served on the USS Boxer during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brookville and was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.Survivors include, Daughters; Kathy (John) Helton, and Donna (Mark) Cecil, Sons; Mike (Elaine) Vest and David (Kathy) Vest, all of Brookville, 12 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.A Sister Dorothy Lou Ann Day of Brookville.He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and Brother Charles Vest.Visitation will be Tuesday, November 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana 47012, and on Wednesday, November 24th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 530 Market Street, Brookville, Indiana 47012.The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 24th at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael L. Holman officiating.Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville with graveside Military Honors provided by Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion of Brookville.Memorial Dontaions may be given to the Diabetes Association.
