Jean C. Hughey, 96, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1916 in Sioux City, Iowa to Floyd and Catherine (Saunders) Allen. Jean married J.R. Hughey on September 18, 1937 in St. Mary of the Lake Church in Chicago, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2003. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Survivors include; daughter, Mary Jo Timmerman of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; daughter, April Walters of Cincinnati, Ohio; son, Robert (Sandy) Hughey of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Barbara Jean Ernest of Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, Michael Allen Hughey, Timothy J. (Margi) Hughey, and R. Patrick Hughey, all of Brookville, Indiana; grandchildren, Michael R. Timmerman, Robert D. (Wendy) Timmerman, Catherine A. Timmerman, Tiffany Hedge, Mark (Zand) Walters, Angie (Sheri) Hughey, Christopher Ernest, Sean Ernest, JR (Nicole) Hughey, Liz and Shane Negangard, and Maggie Hughey; great-grandchildren, Cecily Hedge, Grace Hughey, Tim "Hud" Hughey, and Nathan Timmerman; sister, Mary Miller of Chicago, Illinois; and special friend, Judy Conwell.Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by; grandsons, Danny Hughey and Daniel Timmerman; and son-in-laws, Michael Timmerman and Donald J Walters. Visitation for friends and family will be from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Brookville, Indiana. Rev. Jeremy M. Gries will officiate the Mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.Memorial donations may be directed to Franklin County Right to Life and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
