Jerry E. Erhart, 52, of Sunman passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Margaret-Mary Hospital in Batesville. He was born on December 7, 1960 in Batesville and was the son of Alphonse 'Bud' Erhart and Rita Schoettelkotte Erhart. Jerry grew up in St. Peters and attended Brookville High School. During his high school years he worked at Pepsi Cola. He took the Building Trade Program at the Connersville Vocational School, completed a four year carpenter apprenticeship program, and later became a Union Carpenter. He was an acoustical ceiling superintendent for many years. Jerry was a member of St Peters Catholic Church, and enjoyed time with his family and the dog named 'Happy'. Jerry was particularly proud of his 1985 Ford Ranger which he would drive around as well as his 1980 Honda motorcycle which he rode for many hours. He loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing and riding motorcycles. Jerry married Marcella Fritsch on June 23, 1984 in St Paul Church in New Alsace and she survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by; daughter, Dana ( Mike ) Hoskins of Burlington, KY; sons, Lance Erhart of New Alsace and Shane Erhart of Indianapolis; parents, Rita and Al 'Bud' Erhart of St Peters; brother, Steve (Dee Dee) Erhart of St. Peters; and mother-in-law, Mary Fritsch of Weisburg.Visitation for friends and family will be Monday, October 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman with the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 8 at 10:30 AM in St Peters Catholic Church, St Peters. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed at the Funeral Home on Monday at 4:30 PM.Memorial contributions may be given for Masses or to the Sunman Life Squad, Arthritis Foundation, or the American Heart Association.
