Joan (Hirt) Gillman, 84, of Brookville passed away at her residence on Tuesday, September 20th.She was born May 2, 1927 in Oldenburg, IN to George and Alma (Berens) Hirt.She was married to Leo 'Dick' Gillman who preceded her in death on September 19, 1991.She was a former telephone operator and bookkeeper for Gillman Brothers Lumber Company and at Xavier University. She was also a member of St. Michael Church, Daughters of Isabella, volunteer for the Girl Scouts for over 40 years, founder of the Young at Heart Club, and a volunteer at church, Providence Hospital, and the WATCH Center.Survivors include her children - Patricia ( Chip ) Ott of Cincinnati, OH, Michael ( Helen ) Gillman of Brookville,IN, Barbara ( Steve ) Lamping of West Harrison, IN, Heidi ( George ) Keppler of West Chester, OH, Catherine ( Ken ) Marshall of Brookville, IN, Daniel ( Monica ) Gillman of Louisville, KY, also 14 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren Sisters - Georgene Gillman of Brookville, IN, Barb Hirt of Cincinnati, OH, Brother - Dr. Paul Hirt of Greensburg, IN.She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Grandson- Lee Lamping, Sister- Mitzi Seiter.
