Joe Hogan, age 73, of Blooming Grove, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Fayette Regional Health Systems in Connersville. Born February 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Kentucky, he was the son of Curtis Hogan, Sr. and Carlie Johnson Hogan. On November 17, 1962 he married Nancy G. Bowery in Blooming Grove. Joe retired from PRC Recordings in Richmond after 30 years of service. He then drove over the road trucks. Joe was a local musician, having played with several local bands and was known for his ability to play the steel guitar. He loved woodworking and being outdoors. Those surviving who will cherish Joe's memory include his wife of over 52 years, Nancy Hogan; daughter, Monica (Eric) Boger of Blooming Grove; grandsons, Andrew (Heather) Boger and Mitchell Boger; great grandchildren, Brandon and Kylie Boger; sisters, Faye Lakes of Brookville, Shirley (Larry) McKinley of Marietta, GA, Norma (Steve) Smitley of Richmond, and Judy Biltz of Richmond; brothers, Jim Hogan (Jane Montgomery) of Indianapolis, and Curtis Hogan of Brookville and brothers-in-law, Ed Bowery (Chee) of Richmond, and Harold Ball of Richmond. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Louise Patton, brother, John Hogan; Friends may visit with Joe's family on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. The funeral service, officiated by Gary Taylor of Central Christian Church, Farmland, begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in Everton Community Cemetery.
