John H. Blevins, 72, of Brookville, Indiana died Friday, July 2, 2010 at McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.He was born September 2, 1937 in Wayne County, Indiana to George and Sarah (Hughes) Blevins. He married Judy (Kern) Rains on May 23, 1992 at the Brookville Church of Christ in Brookville, Indiana, and she survives.John was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Oak Forest Church of Christ in Brookville, Indiana. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. John had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant prior to his retirement.Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Judy Blevins, of Brookville, Indiana; four step-daughters, Jeanette (Martin) Gray of Hamilton, Ohio, Karen (Ron) Steiner of Brookville, Indiana, Gail (Scott) Tipton of Portland, Indiana, and Christina (Mark) Nesbitt of South Bend, Indiana; one brother, Jay (Rosie) Blevins of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 13 Grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more great-grandchildren expected in August; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, George and Sarah Blevins, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Cox; two sisters, Orpha & Louise; and four brothers, William, Daniel, Thomas, and George.The visitation will be Monday, July 5, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oak Forest Church of Christ, 13071 St. Mary's Road, Brookville, Indiana, 47012. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Church. Jim Webster, Minister of Oak Forest Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery in Milton, Indiana. Memorial donations may be directed to the Oak Forest Church of Christ.
