John R. Campbell, age 81, of Sunman, Indiana, was born on July 26, 1934 in Busy, Kentucky, the son of Abijah (A.B.) and Mary Hoskins Campbell. On June 18, 1955, John married Shirley M. Lattire at St. Johns in Penntown. He worked with computers and data processing. John was a lifetime member of the Sunman Church of Christ where he was Treasurer and Music Director for many years. He was also a member of the Sunman Chamber of Commerce, the Kenneth L. Driver Post, Sunman American Legion, and served on the Sunman Town Council for 20 years. John loved his community, volunteering many hours. He passed away August 14, 2015 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Campbell; daughter, Julie (Allen) Brock of Sunman; grandchildren, Kyle (Beth) Brock, Corey (Erica) Brock, and Morgan Brock; great grandchildren, Gracelynn, Johnathon, Brian and Emma; sister, Laverne March of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Eugene Campbell of Canyon Lake, CA, and Jack Campbell of Cincinnati, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Robinson, and brothers, Sam, Arlie, Floyd, Ed and Earl Campbell. John chose to donate his body to medical science at the University of Cincinnati and no public services are planned at this time.
