John A. Skinner, 90, of Liberty, Indiana passed away at his residence on Monday, June 20, 2011.He was born in Franklin County, Indiana on February 26, 1921 to Raymond Skinner and Addie (Bake) Skinner.He was married to Norma J. (Apsley) Skinner, they were Wed on November 10, 1945 at the Fairfield Parsonage in Fairfield, Indiana.He was a Farmer in Franklin and Union Counties while also working at Sperry-Rubber and Plastics in Brookville and later at Liberty Tree Campground.He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club. He served in the US Navy on the USS Ticonderoga from 1941 to 1945.Survivors include: His wife- Norma J. Skinner, Sons- Darrell (Belinda) Skinner of Madison, Indiana, Gregory (Kathy) Skinner of Brookville, Indiana, Jan (Annette) Skinner of Liberty, Indiana, seven Grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren, one Brother, James Skinner of Alquina, indiana.He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters- Laura and Mildred, a Brother- Kenneth.Visitation will be Thursday, June 23rd from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana 47012.Funeral Service is Friday June 24th, 11:00AM at the Funeral Home where Jason Davis will officiate.Memorial contributions can be directed to the Endowment Fund for the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club at FCCF, Liberty Church of Christ or Megan Vonderheide Scholarship Fund.Burial will be at Sims Cemetery in Fairfield, Indiana.
