John Wells, 68, of Guilford, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home. He was born on March 20, 1944 in Richland, Washington, the son of Louis and Ellenora (Hiltz) Wells. He married Marjorie McCarty and she preceded him in death. John retired from work in construction.Survivors include his three sons; Jeff Wells, John Wells and Jim Wells all of Guilford, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, Jake, Jessica, Joey, Jarod and Abigail. Also surviving are sisters; Sharon Castle of Guilford, Donna Engle of New Alsace, Jackie Powell of Manchester, Indiana; brothers, William Wells, Jerry Wells, and Glenn Wells, all of Guilford, Indiana.Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Wells of Guilford. Visitation for John's friends and family will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman, Indiana. Father Brian Esarey will officiate the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Martin Catholic Church Cemetery in Yorkville, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.
