Joyce Back, 81, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Brookville Healthplex in Brookville.She was born November 25, 1931 to Alphonse Wallpe and Angela P. Biltz Wallpe. Joyce married John E. Back on December 19, 1951, at St. Mary's Church in Oxford, Ohio. She retired after 40 years of service to People's Trust Bank, as VP of the bank. Joyce enjoyed being active in her community and was a member of; St. Michael Church, Women's Club, Lion's Charter, Kiwanas, Red Hats, the Delts, and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved playing cards, especially Bridge, loved to travel and also enjoyed quilting.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Denise Back of Muncie, Indiana; granddaughter Stephanie (Matt) Roberts of Muncie; grandson Alex (Lauren) Back, of Muncie; step-grandson Stephen Baugh of Muncie; step-granddaughter, Karena Walter of Greenfield; step-granddaughter Dawn (JD) Fortner of Greenfield; step-grandson BJ (Angie) Brummett of Greenfield; and step-great-grandchildren Taylor, Kyla and Drew. Also surviving is sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Ray Amhrein of Brookville.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of nearly 61years, John E. BackA mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Sean Danda officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.There will be no public visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the John and Joyce Back Speech and Hearing Disability Endowment through the Franklin County Community Foundation and St. Michael's School.
