Katherine L. Turner of Brookville, was born on October 11, 1930 in Madison County, Kentucky, a daughter to Shade and China Powell Smith. She married her high school sweetheart, Oscar Turner, Jr. on April 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1981. Katherine worked at Danners in Brookville for 31 years and later had a shop in Metamora. She loved her family and friends and her little dog Shortie; she also enjoyed many crafts. On December 21, 2015, at the age of 85, Katherine passed away at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville.
Those surviving who will cherish Katherine's memory include her daughters, Patricia (David) Hess of Batesville, and Linda Turner Bolton of McKee, KY; sister, Marie (Tommy) Simpson of Berea, KY; three grandchildren, Mike (Lisa) Johnson of Seymour, IN, Bonnie Bolton and Jimmy Bolton, both of McKee, KY; great grandchildren, Garrett and Breyton Johnson, Jonathan Skinner, and Dakota Gordon. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 24, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Pastor Michael Holman will officiate the services beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
