Kenneth Dale Allen, of Laurel, was born on July 11, 1945 in Metamora, the son of Hugh and Flora Hunter Allen.  He was a graduate of Brookville High School and later worked for and retired from Visteon in Connersville.  He was always ready to help someone he knew as well as a stranger - one example was his strong belief in blood donation.  Even after his diagnosis with cancer and ongoing chemotherapy, he waited for the day he could donate blood again.  Kenneth enjoyed working on cars and loved to cook, but his favorite times were spent with family - especially spoiling the grandchildren.  On Monday, June 12, 2017, at the age of 71, Kenneth passed away.

Those surviving who will cherish Kenneth's memory include his children, Julia (James) Cummings of Franklin, Becki (Brad) Spurlock of Laurel, Tina (Shane) Peters of Trinity, AL, and Kat (Tracy) Meyer of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lauren (Shawn) Bliton, Lucas Cummings, Adam, Trey and Chase Cummings, Jordan (Jesse Cox) Spurlock, Jenna (Travis Upchurch) Spurlock, Bradley and Brooke Spurlock, Lee, Shelbi and David Shane Peters, Ara, Bo and Louis Meyer; great grandchildren, Macie, Nash, Tate, Kaden and Elizabeth; 3 brothers, Finley, Oliver and Milford Allen, and best friend, Zuk.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rollie Allen, Faye Hudson, Norma Banks and Mendel Allen.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Eric Hopkins will officiate the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
